During an excursion in Ghent we have something to eat at the white lion. You had to wait long, half an hour at a soup of the day and even longer for a salad with shrimp. Then they still serve prawns instead of the house salad with scampi. The food itself is nice, but we never found the staff friendly. Ultimately, everything you ask 2 times, even the bill.

The white lion is a much talked about restaurant in Ghent, which in my opinion is evolving in the right direction. Especially the extensive salad card appeals to me enormously.

As a regular visitor to the white lion I've got a few remarks on some discussions about this restaurant. This is undeniably the busiest restaurant in Ghent and distant environment. 99% of satisfied customers, but few take the trouble to put down a discussion here, but some unhappy, of course, stretched out on the internet gooien.Bij this I would like to ask people with positive experiences of it to let us know! I've recently been. I have meat (T-Bone) and ordered that was delicious. The presentation (with vegetable dish) was fine too! The atmosphere inside, warm and cozy, and outside on the beautiful canals of Ghent, is particularly fun evening. The staff will do no less to that atmosphere. Especially when I come near Ghent, I just start one more time around the White Lion. Greetings from Rotterdam, Kamal.

This evening Ghent stew eaten with chips. It was tasty and cheap (thirteen million). Prompt and friendly service. Highly recommended!

I am a regular visitor to the CityPlug. Until now remained only to read the reviews. When I read the above assessment, I decided it was time to try to respond. I too was present on New Year's Eve in the white lion and am amused me rotten. The food and service were really dandy. Keep up the good, Peter.

I'm in the last week of December in 2010 at the White Lion was. Ghent was great, but the visit to the white lion was the only drawback of a fantastic vacation. It took a long, unfriendly staff and when we did not get what we ordered and thus to the manager, we were accused of being anti-social people. I can therefore advise against anyone at the White Lion, but Ghent was very great!

With friends I went to The White Lion in Ghent were to enjoy a dinner. Upon entering, it looked promising. The White Lion looks neat and it was also fairly busy. Because we were hungry we ordered bread and shrimp croquettes as an appetizer. The kitchen, however, decided to give cheese croquettes without first consulting us because it is "too busy" was to serve shrimp croquettes. Although we were a bit disappointed, we had high hopes that the bread would make a bit good. We got a big basket of bread, buns containing at least two days old. As we left the waiter for a new basket of fresh bread exactly what we asked again stale bread. We decided to redress the owner and are there for the rest of the restaurant very rough treatment. He also assured us that it was not possible to serve fresh bread (the biggest nonsense I've ever heard). I'll never be in that case and I recommend it to other people through this experience definitely NOT there to eat!

I went with a friend something to eat. We chose the white lion because it looked very pleasant. Unfortunately I must give a negative assessment. We have one hour to wait on our food while the pressure was not (14.30). I had the mixed grill, which was very dry and warm. The sweet and sour sauce used is certainly not! My companion had a "reuze'brochette. Well, many giant was not there (5 small pieces of meat, like in a frying) and kebab was quite cold. His mushroom sauce was also completely stiffened. No, here they see me coming back. Unfortunate that this restaurant is such a beautiful location!

Unfortunately, the raw lamb crown was directly controlled, but got him back fully cooked. Ham was too raw, absolutely not get the bone. Mixed Grill was too dry

on Sunday, 15/03/2009 we went with a group of 6 people in your dinner. We ordered 2x steak and 2x tex dish here came the dish heater ice cold explanation they had forgotten to warm as the food was the only lukewarm, the fries everything was cold meat sauce really a disaster, the waitress at informed and took everything to the kitchen came back after 5 minutes but was still cold. this is a very bad service but then a tourist will be able to do little more telling. Sorry we were well out gent and we will certainly tell anyone it was really very bad. Chef limit your sound card and serve food!

My wife and I had our welcome dinner at one year old, we would never forget. Certainly the price for dinner promised that it would be fantastic. But we are cheated. Too much couver adopted for this evening, so you do not focus on the food table and get what you paid twice over you. The main , the steak looked like a piece of leather. We are disappointed early in the evening went. Want to spend a large and a terrible evening ....... go to the white lion in Ghent.

Cozy Saturday night out is ruined by the white lion restaurant. Around half past seven in the evening we ordered dinner, over 2.5 hours to wait until it finally reached our tables. The tables next to us shared this happy waiting. Clearly understaffed kitchen. Food was subsequently ok but not special, and certainly the wait not worth it. The boss laughed even a coffee to offset away from the bill, saying "I would that the whole restaurant to offer for everyone has been have to wait. " I believe he hit the nail on the head. An obvious illustration of a restaurant that runs on single day visitors, and no policy applies to customer satisfaction to go back to see.

Mijn vrouw en ik hadden ons verheugd op een oudejaars diner, wat we nooit meer zouden vergeten. Zeker de prijs voor het diner beloofde dat het fantastisch zou worden.
Echter zijn we bedrogen uitgekomen.
Veel te veel couvers aangenomen voor deze avond, waardoor je niet de aandacht voor de tafel en het eten krijgt waarvoor je dubbel en dwars betaald hebt.
Het hoofdgerecht, de tournedos, leek wel een stukje leer.
We zijn dan ook teleurgesteld vroegtijdig van het het diner vertrokken.
Wil je veel geld kwijt en een vreselijke avond....... ga dan naar de witte leeuw te Gent.

I recently had dinner in the white lion, the restaurant itself is one of the best places on the corn market! Food was super bad, raw meat, blood still in the flesh, not fried, too salty, we were around 16 hours with them fourth at the table we do have at least an hour wait for our food, the staff is rude! ! no manners, THIS CASE IS GOOD TO 1 X HERE TO EAT AND THEN NEVER!! It's worth the money and certainly not worth the McDonalds is only 2 minutes walking distance and that is the money and worth it!!!!! NNOOOIT MORE THE WHITE LION? NE FRITUURKOT SUITS BETTER!!!!!!!

I am a chef of Kortrijk. we went to eat at 20/03/12 dinsdag.ik have tomato shrimp gegeten.dat was no holandse shrimp that was chinase frozen shrimp that cost 5.37euro/kg aankoopprijs.berieding was very slecht.kom I never treug.nooit more
