We were visiting Brussels for the first time last weekend (23rd-25th October) and decided that we wanted seafood on the Friday night, for our friend's birthday!
Sainte Catherine's Place is beautiful, and there were certainly plenty to choose from. We opted for the restaurant which was most busy, which turned out to be Rugbyman No 2.
I have to say that we were very well looked after, and the food was incredible. There was a three course menu for 23 Euros (far cheaper than the good seafood restaurants in Scotland) and of course you could choose a more expensive option if you wished.
My friend chose the 23 Euro option, had a delicious prawn starter, half a lobster for a main course and a trio of chocolate mousses as a desert and it was up there with the top seafood restaurants in Glasgow (such as The City Merchant)...
Which is more than can be said for the extortionate price of taxis in Brussels!
The only authentic left-over here must be the owner. Also the rest is less affected, Uninspired, unprofessional and badly overprized. Became a disgrace this place for the Belgian culinary standard. Quality seekers and food lovers Avoid this place. Maybe try it out just once, Some waste precious money to find out what I mean. Luckily we possessions much better places in the city center. Be inventive, creative and leave the beaten track. You Might Some discover hidden gems.
Menu Printemps (à 55 euros per person) sounded tempting. The shrimp croquettes croquettes are barely contain shrimp. The grilled lobster à ail had never seen the grill and was half baby kreeftje.Het bread basket contains foamy & tacky "Frans" brood.Het dessert finally Normande surprise flambée Calvados is an apple pie with 1 scoop of prefabricated & 2 drops of vanilla ice cream and Calvados was not flambé. The white wine was not enough gekoeld.De operation went indifferent and unprofessional. In summary: low quality, overprijsd, "tourist trap", a mousetrap ... :-) Absolute advised against!

Well, well, what to say. Expensive! No doubt! Even if the place is situated in that charming neighbourhood of St Catherine Place, I wouldn't pick that place anymore as my first choice (neither my 2nd or 3rd). There is almost nothing except a touristy ambiance. You will eat correctly but I was very disappointed to give my card for that amount at the end of the meal… Bouhouhou :-/
