Bakery Charles is the best in the city center, I do not agree when people say that the cakes or loaves are too expensive, it is not an independent or a supermarket prices are available on the cheap for a quality bread close zéro.non only the service is impeccable but the boss aussi.je supplied me for years and I never had to complain about either the quality or the personal (which is fussing) or the Boss ...
The bread is very good, good baguette, pastries smell the butter, cakes not exceptional but quite correct. But why make apple turnovers square ?????? The service is not very jolly but that's in almost all food shops in Brussels, so we move on it ... If Charlie was closer to home, or in a neighborhood with many other food shops, I think I would do my baker record. (Not my pastry) Unfortunately, apart from him and the store mushrooms and futures next, there's nothing to shop in this neighborhood. And I know few people who live there ... If Charlie was located in a street with good cheese, good poultry, good fishmonger, butcher etc. good, it would be great.
This is a business (and the one beside Champigros) that helps to gently make the Sainte Catherine Street for a bourgeois frica. Who can afford such products? Certainly not Mr. and Mrs. everybody. Already the North Sea and ABC practice exorbitant prices, we are put perfume! Speaking bread, of course, it is not bad but it does not break too many legs to a duck. Obviously, it changes the frozen bread available in all supermarkets ... but I have good bread is a standard requirement, there is not enough real bakers in the center, it is a fact, then to say that it is excellent, there is not a I did not pass. For me, good bread, it is not! The crust raspberry that I bought 15 euros (!!!) was not worth the price either. I passed my way.
I go since it opened Charli living in the neighborhood not every day, but as regularly as possible. The bread is fabulous some of their pastries as the price is a bit high but the quality has a price ....... The Charli very friendly and always listens to suggestions and comments. In short do not change

I 'm going every time I go to Brussels. Although slightly more expensive (+ or - 20 cents more) than other bakeries but clearly this is the best of any I've tried in Brussels (no, I have not tried St. Aulaye but it is expected soon). In short, if you're in the neighborhood, it's a great place for lunch! By cons, there may be a long line but the main thing is good quality. The home is also very good.
