What joy finally fine cuisine and delicious Brussels. A warm welcome and I can not believe the gorgeous surroundings, the magnificent paintings of Francis Schuiten showed us all his splandeur in Brussels. It was like 5 and all the kids we dive into the dishes to taste the dishes as photogenic that tasty ... the veal calf that my God is good, and I'll sell my soul with a little hesitation to have the recipe for fillet of turbot crusted parmesan .. I have already booked for this Saturday. Anne-Sophie
This Saturday we are four friends to celebrate Sophie ANNIVERSARY. We are of course going to the Grand Sluice. We had great moments at the decor, the terrace very trendy with lots of greenery, the Seine a real dream spot. It has wanted to salute the Wim Vandamme and we are told that there is more work for one year. and yet we end beaks were all appreciated trackbed gastronomic level. We were even surprised that this true culinary journey for the note was more democratic than the 55th person with a coffee drink wine. It's magical Great Lock and luckily we were also to salute the Chief Arnaud this restaurant ... He has talent. A small flat. no there has not really caro
Resto days of ctte year have attracted our attention to the Great Lock. In addition it was discovered one day in our mailbox a flayers who claim that this restaurant fare has the most beautiful terrace in Brussels. let's go. What a great discovery, warm welcome, smile. It is certainly willing to eat on the terrace. The sound of water has completely depeysé it's like everywhere except in Brussels a corner of paradise. Superb. At the kitchen is a feast like no other. as a place rarely seen in Brussels. diego
We dine at "The big lock" Friday, February 5, 2010 following huge media recommendations only exhausting but praise about this place and its cuisine. Atmosphere "Jules Verne" which allows you to discover the old hydraulic mechanics of this old lock which regulated the flow of the purse. Beautiful pictures drawn especially for the occasion by a professional pencil, simply furnished but tasteful, comfortable chairs ... well, everything is there to spend a pleasant moment. Everything? Not really because when we receive the entry (shrimp croquettes from Zeebrugge), which is apparently a specialty of the chef, formerly of stars, we're surprised or even disappointed. Indeed they have in the kitchen a light hand on the pepper and shrimp poor have paid the price, thus masking the taste of the dish. To follow we took the back of cod stoemp leek and again a wrong note! ! TOO MUCH salt ... In conclusion I would say it is a place that has the stamp see the charm, the kitchen is neat but please do not force on the condiments. If there is a pepper and salt at the table is to use it as the devil. Stéphane
In general: authentic and beautifully restored setting. Friendly and bilingual staff. Generally good food, a few things could be improved. Appetizer: one with shrimp remoulade, was somewhat disappointing for the price. It was essentially a small five scampi (a fraction tough baked) with just more raw. Second waffle with goat cheese: fun and tasty combination, but unfortunately the announced pine nuts were nowhere in sight. Main course: first spaghetti carbonara. They claim that the best of Brussels, he is certainly not bad, but maybe a bit too spicy, pepper tastes sometimes quite through. Second meatballs in tomato sauce: delicious dumplings, but then I found the sauce a bit too bland. A little salt and pepper have helped much. Operation: friendly and correct. Bilingual staff was also good. One of the staff seemed a little inexperienced, because he served our main dishes first on another table and knocked the salt to two occasions. But I think not so bad, err is human. Another small note: very sorry that the website is only available in French!

Discovery this weekend of the Great Lock. Warm, wonderful atmosphere thanks to the artistic designs. The card is an invitation to travel, the price range is open to all, but a constant sense of wonder with every bite (six people table, six different choices). Only one conclusion: an address to keep warm to cause astonishment of each of your guests.
